Nicola Young was first elected in 2013 as an independent; she represents the central city and inner city suburbs.
Nicola was born, raised and trained as a journalist in Wellington, then spent 20 years in London working in the insurance sector. She returned to Wellington in 1996 when she set up her own consultancy acting as a political advisor, communications specialist and feature writer. Nicola’s long association with Taiwan goes back to the early 1970s when her parents (The Hon William & Joan Young) were good friends with H.E Mr Konsin Shah and Mrs Shah.
